Paul Crane and his colleague Tony could compete with the world’s leading opera singers in terms of voice projection. Customers would have to be either deaf or abroad to miss their cries publicizing “fresh strawberries” and whatever else just happens to be in season.

Paul’s stall is weighed down by colourful produce – from raspberries, blueberries, cranberries and cherries to figs, clementines, tomatoes and satsumas.
