Burnt Sugar began with beautiful hand-made fudge, produced by founder Justine Cather from her mother’s old recipe, using unrefined sugar, cream, rich treacle and golden syrup. The company has since branched out to produce toffees, nougat and caramels as well as the fudge, but all of them use the finest, purest and most ethically-sourced ingredients possible, including Fairtrade unrefined sugar from the Kasinthula Cane Growers in Malawi.
