Games Dishes Demonstration Kitchen
23/Jul/2012
To celebrate the official start of the Olympic Games, our chef Hayley Edwards is cooking dishes inspired by some of the 205 countries that are taking part. International dishes on the menu include:
Chupe de Camarones
This Peruvian speciality is a slightly spicy dish that uses some of the tastiest seafood to be found in the Market.
Key Ingredients:
- Prawns and Clams from Shellseekers
- Cod fillets from Furness Fish & Game
- Breadcrumbs from Oliver's Bakery
Smokvenjak Fig Cake with Parma Ham
This recipe comes from trader D'Issa and is a traditional, healthy Croatian dish. It's been eaten there for centuries and uses 100% natural ingredients.
Key Ingredients:
- Smokevenjak slices from D'Issa
- Salmon fillets from Furness Fish & Game
- Cantaloupe melon from Jock Stark
Mutton Kebabs
Often overlooked in the UK, mutton is a tasty meat that is popular throughout the Levant, especially in Lebanon where inspiration for this dish is drawn.
Key Ingredients:
- Mutton from Northfield Farm
- Lebanese 7-spice from Spice Mountain
- Olive oil from D'Issa
Join us in the Demonstration Kitchen from 12-2pm on Friday 27th July to learn how to cook these international dishes with our chef Hayley. Cooking them at home is a perfect way to welcome the world to London!
