Demo kitchen residencies: River Cottage

An exciting demo kitchen residency as part of the Borough Market and River Cottage partnership throughout September.

Alongside an impressive roster of ticketed talks and masterclasses from River Cottage personalities, and a vegetarian feast on 21st hosted by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, we're thrilled to have members of the River Cottage team in the demo kitchen on Thursdays throughout September.

Rachel de Thample - The Art Of Fermentation

A month long collaboration with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage collective of talented chefs and tutors gets underway with a preservation workshop from this hugely experienced and respected author and food writer

Rachel's menu will include:

Fermented chilli sauce
Smoky chipotle & beetroot krautchi
Cardamom beetroot kvass
Jun tea 
Probiotic apple chutney

Andy Tyrell - Sourdough bread making

River Cottage Master Baker Andy Tyrrell will inspire you to rise to the occasion, abandon ready-sliced loaves and discover the world of home-baked sourdough. He'll be guiding you through the journey of making sourdough, introducing you to the techniques to give you the confidence to become a master of your own bread

Gill Meller - Wild Food Cookery

Award-winning food writer, chef and founder team member of River Cottage, Gill Meller brings an amazing month of demos to a close, inviting you to share his world of wild cooking and nose-to-tail eating reflected in his menu of simple, honest dishes made from natural and abundant foods

Gill's menu will include:

Raw scallops with dill, red onion, lemon & olive oil
Ceps with artichoke & chives
Roast parsnips with blackberries, honey, chicory & rye flakes
