Celebrate Apple Day Sunday 21st October
Borough Market will be opening up its doors on Sunday, 21 October, for the Market’s annual Apple Day event. This family celebration of the seasonal apple harvest offers visitors the opportunity to sample apple varieties and products including limited edition Apple Day preserves, pies and juices.
Located in the Green Market from 12pm until 4pm, Apple Day celebrates the complete lifecycle of the apple and apple growers, producers will all be on hand to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for all things apple.
As well as apple treats from regular Borough Market favourites including New Forest Cider and Chegworth Valley there will be the chance to try traditional games such as apple peeling competitions as well as storytelling and a story orchard. Also why not enjoy a rousing performance of The Lovers' Dreame by local theatre company, The Lion’s Part.
Borough Market's neighbour, Southwark Cathedral will also mark Apple Day with a short act of harvest worship in the Market. Where people from different traditions will take part, through an inter-faith social action project called A Year of Service. All proceeds raised on the day will be donated to local SE1 homeless projects.
